Very nice campground. Loved the roomy, clean, warm bathrooms! Also appreciated how quiet the park was at night. The campground is situated on a steep hill making getting into your site a little difficult. Most sites are pull-thru, located amongst trees, and campfire pits are included. Five minute drive to the west entrance of Glacier NP. We would camp here again.

Very nice state park with excellent camping facilities. Beautiful setting on Lake Pend Oreille with easy access to Sandpoint, Silverwood Amusement Park, and Coeur d' Alene. We camped in Snowberry Loop which is more heavily treed and the sites are all gravel with partial hook-ups. The road in this loop is narrow, so big rigs would not want to camp here, but Nighthawk, Kestrel, and Redtail loops are more open and can accomodate large RVs. Great park to ride your bike as well as for boating and swimming. We've camped here several times and would definitely go back!

We loved South Beach State Park! Nice sites, but make sure you do your homework and reserve ahead of time. The sites are all back-in and some of our neighbors with really large rigs had difficulty getting into theirs. Ours was 50 feet long with plenty of space for our three fold out tent beds. You are within walking distance to the beach, about one-half mile one way through beautiful dunes. Very close to Newport and the Aquarium, as well as an easy drive up to Lincoln City and the Outlet Mall! Only complaint would be the showers. Clean, but some in our loop had scalding hot water while the one right next to it had freezing cold.

This is a beautiful campground located on the Washington side of the Columbia River in the Gorge, just east of the Dalles, Oregon. Lots of trees with large pull-thru sites right on the river, plus back-in sites under the trees and a separate area for tents. The beach is rocky, but has a large swimming area. We stayed here two separate nights as we were driving to and from the Oregon coast, but would definitely enjoy staying here for a longer trip.

Steamboat Rock State Park is one of our favorites. Every site has full hook-ups, and even though they are all back-in they are easy to get into. Shade trees throughout the park and beautiful views of the coulee walls right on Banks Lake. We had a site right on the water which was nice, but since you can pull up your boat along the beach behind the campsites, there was a fair amount of noise and foot traffic. It has a small sandy beach and nice swimming area, as well as an on-site store/grill. Great hike up onto Steamboat Rock where the views are awesome! And you are close to Grand Coulee Dam which is a fun days outing. This is a very popular park, so advanced reservations are a must.

If you are looking for an inexpensive down-to-basics campground, Kettle Falls Campground is it. Located right next to Lake Roosevelt, you can have a site "on the lake". But you are up above the water by several feet and will have to climb down a steep bank to get to it! It is still a beautiful setting though with lots of pine trees for shade, clean bathrooms with flushing toilets (just no showers), and a very nice boat launch/marina for boat lovers. Sites are all paved, but not overly long, and the pull-through sites are narrow and tight. Next time we go we will pick a back-in site over a pull-through. A swimming beach is advertised on the website, but that encompasses the entire Lake Roosevelt Area. There is NO swimming beach at this campground.

Lake Easton State Park is in a beautiful treed setting in the Cascade Mountains. The campground is nicely laid out with both large pull-through and back-in sites. There is also a nice but small sandy beach with swimming area. Perfect for small children. There is also a small playground by the beach as well as picnic tables. We stayed there for one night on our way to Western Washington. Very easy access to the campground off of I-90, but its close proximity to the interstate is also one of the negatives since the traffic noise all night long makes it hard to sleep.

Taidnapam is a beautiful campground with large paved sites, both pull-through and back-in. Located in a cedar forest right next to Riffe Lake, it is a little off the "beaten-track", but is also a relatively close drive to Mt. Rainier National Park. If you love to fish, it has a neat fishing bridge as well as a large boat launch on site. Only negatives were the swampy swimming area and yapping dogs. Perfect for a relaxing get-away.

This campground is in a good location if you are taking a few days to visit the north side of Olympic National Park. The campground is clean and quiet, but the sites are short and narrow with no privacy. Trees are behind each campsite. The campground is also terraced into a steep hillside with three separate levels. Big rigs were staying there, but they took up their entire site. We had to park our SUV perpendicular to our camper in order for it to fit. Sites are not paved, but fairly level. Cost of showers is not included in the overall daily rate, so be sure to have several quarters on hand if you use their facility. Nice large laundry room with two coin-operated washers and dryers as well as a large table for folding. Nicely stocked General Store with espresso and ice cream for a bed-time treat! Gas and propane also available.

Kalaloch is a wonderful campground for being right by the ocean. Beach is beautiful with easy access accept for some logs you will have to navigate through. Sites are all paved and you are back in the trees. No hookups as well as no showers, but there is plenty of water and flush toilets. Sites are not overly large, but some can accommodate larger RV's. The pull-thru sites are not what you would consider true pull-thru's. They are just small notches off the main loop road, so do not provide as much privacy and some of them face the wrong direction from your camper's door. We asked if we could park our travel trailer in the opposite direction for just that reason and the park staff allowed us to do that. They were very friendly and accommodating, as was the camp host. We can't wait to come back here again!

Sun Lakes State Park is located in central Washington, south of Grand Coulee Dam. The campground has a large area for tents and non-hookup RV's under large shade trees. The area with full-hookups is relatively new, but there is no shade. It can also get quite windy. The lake is very nice with two swimming areas, but no sandy beach. Nice boat launch. There is also a general store/grill, mini-golf, and 9-hole golf course at another RV resort right next door.
